Alpha Psi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi selects Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking as their Local Philanthropy

Indianapolis, IN – The Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) is honored to be selected as the local philanthropy for the Alpha Psi chapter of Beta Theta Pi at Butler University. This decision follows a year and a half involvement with the Alpha Psi chapter and ICESAHT’s Rape Prevention Education Coordinator, Burton Patterson.

“I am absolutely thrilled and honored that they chose us as their philanthropy,” said Burton. “They have been so engaged and dedicated to ending sexual assault and shifting rape culture, really from day one of their chapter re-colonizing.”

Throughout his involvement with the chapter, Patterson provided multiple trainings surrounding healthy masculinity, what is rape culture and how to end it, bystander intervention, and becoming ally’s in the movement to end sexual assault.

By selecting ICESAHT as their local philanthropy, the Alpha Psi chapter has demonstrated a strong commitment to creating a positive change in their community and aiding the fight to end sexual violence and human trafficking in Indiana.

The Alpha Psi chapter will hold multiple education, awareness and fundraising events on Butler University campus throughout the year to engage students in ICESAHT’s mission.

The Alpha Psi chapter will hold their first philanthropy week benefiting ICESAHT from Monday, November 5 through Thursday, November 8. The events will be hosted outside of the campus Starbucks by the gazebo.
